Disabled and Neurodivergent Books and Comics out in 2024! null

Hello everyone and welcome to the 2024 Disabled and Neurodivergent Books and Comics Release List!

Last year’s 2023 list went amazingly well, and there was no doubt in my mind that I was going to do it again this year.

This list includes books and comics of all genres being published in 2024 that are written by disabled and/or neurodivergent authors or include disabled and/or neurodivergent characters. It has been compiled by readers and authors providing titles in this Google Spreadsheet and my own research.

Updated: 26th July 2024 – Updated.

A few notes about this list

This is a long list and as the year goes on, has the potential to get even longer. To make it readable and manageable, I’ve chosen not to include a synopsis for each book. In conjunction with this list, I’ll be posting monthly announcements about what books are due out in the upcoming few months. Those announcements will include a full synopsis, cover and other details.

Books are listed in publishing date order by month by Book Title and author. Where possible, the book title is linked to an information page about the book from the author’s website. Following title and author are genre, age group and representation information regarding the author and/or characters.

For example, January 14th – Book Title by Jane Smith, Fantasy, Adult, disabled author, neurodivergent MC (main character), character with Myalgic encephalomyelitis (ME)/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS).

Following this information is an Add to GoodReads link and some links where you can purchase the book, which I’ll talk a little about in a moment. If a GoodReads link is missing, it is because it isn’t available yet, and I’ll add it when it is.

Please Note - This post contains Affiliate Links. Click for more information!
This means that as an Amazon Associate and member of other affiliate programmes I earn a small commission from items purchased using links featured in this post at no extra cost to you. Click here to learn more.

Every purchase you make through Just Geeking By helps keep this blog running.

Each book is listed along with links to online stores. I would be extremely grateful if you would consider using them to purchase or pre-order any of the books on this list if you are interested in them.

Every purchase helps me keep Just Geeking By running, and my disabilities mean that I am unable to work. If you’re grateful for this post in any way, click some links or buy me a coffee.

Thanks!

Add a title to this list!

I will be adding to this list throughout 2024, so please let me know if you have a book to add or suggest! Even if your title has already been published, as long as it was published at some point during 2024, it can be added to this list! 🙂

If your title was published in 2023 please visit the 2023 list and comment there to be added. Requests for 2023 titles posted here will be ignored.

You do not need to be the author, publisher or agent to do so, however, if you provide me with as much information as possible to help me add your book to this list faster. I’m multi-disabled with eight chronic illnesses, one of which is ME/CFS, which means my energy levels fluctuate widely due to chronic fatigue.

It would be a big help if you could comment here or on this Google Spreadsheet with as much of the following information as possible so that I can add your book promptly:

Release Date (or approximate date):

Book Title:

Author:

Genre (two words max):

Age group:

Disability and/or neurodivergent representation:

Author’s website (link to the book is a bonus):

Goodreads:

(Please also specify if you are not the author or publisher)

Changes or corrections

I have done my best to try to verify the information and use language preferred by each author regarding disability representation and identity. If I’ve made a mistake, or you would like something changed please let me know in the comments, or if you prefer you can contact me privately. To ensure that information is correct, I will only be accepting changes and corrections from authors and publishers.
