The 12 Days of Geeking By Christmas is coming!

It has been a crazy year with so many ups and downs, and my confidence and activity have been all over the place. However, during that time my imagination has been working on overtime and I’ve been cooking up lots of new blog content. Some of you may remember this list I posted to Instagram several months ago teasing you all about what I was plotting – well folks, that was just the tip of the iceberg 😉 Activity has grinded to a halt right now because I’ve been helping my Mother-in-law move and so I’m saving it all up for December and the 12Read More →

Closing a Chapter - Talking about submitting my dissertation & my ME recovery

It’s the 18th August 2019 and a few hours ago I submitted the dissertation for my Information and Library Studies Msc, the final part of the Masters that has taken me over 4 and 1/2 years to complete That wasn’t how I planned for my Masters to go when I started it in September 2015, and when I started to feel ill I could never have imagined that my entire life was about to change so dramatically.  In the years since I’ve searched for answers to that all-important question; why me?? My interview series here at Just Geeking By has been up and running for a a few years now, and it was well overdue an update. Not to mention it was about time I removed the ‘coming soon’ sign off the Disability Interview information page and actually got some real questions up! When I first created the interview series the aim was shine a light on the unique hobbies and professions that other people have experienced. To give them a place to share the stories of where they began, how they grew and have gotten to where they are now so that others could learnRead More →

October Monthly Update

Now, how would I describe October? Two things spring to mind; always behind and lergy. The month started off well enough and I had a nice peaceful simple birthday (just what I had in mind) and continued my annual birthday tradition of having some form of illness, usually something flu-like. I’ll let you read on to find out more about how my October went 🙂 I used to do a monthly goals post each month before I swapped to these round up posts this year. The reason for the change was I felt that I was putting a bit too much pressure on myself inRead More →
