Welcome to Seriously Geeky Sundays week 15. It’s summertime here in the northern hemisphere, although living in Scotland whether it actually feels like summer really depends on the day or even the time of day. Like Easter, this year Summer is a peculiar affair with many plans being cancelled. While we can’t do the things we had planned we’re going to invoke some summer spirit by having some summer fictional fun instead!

A Reminder

Please remember to drop your link in the link-up at the end of the post. This is so other participants and readers can read your answers 🙂 Take a moment to check out the other links listed there too and read some of the fantastic answers by other SGS participants 🙂

Seriously Geeky Sundays is a brand new weekly geeky prompt that started in April 2020. If you’re new then head over to the SGS information page to learn everything you need to know.

Summer Time

My answers for week #15

Seriously Geeky Sundays Week 15 - What is your favourite summer movie?

What is your favourite summer movie?

This might come as a surprise but it’s actually Grease. There’s just something about the film and its music that works for me. At my 18th birthday party the DJ played a medley of songs from Grease and my friends and I split into boys vs girls to sing the various parts of the songs.

Seriously Geeky Sundays Week 15 - What is your favourite summer scene/moment from a fandom?

What is your favourite summer scene/moment from a fandom?

I grew up with Enid Blyton’s novels such as The Famous Five, Secret Seven and her YA series, the Adventure Series. I still love the idea of going off on your summer holidays with your cousins and having an adventure happen.

Seriously Geeky Sundays Week 15 - What is your favourite fictional tropical location?

What is your favourite fictional tropical location?

Costa del Sol from Final Fantasy XIV which looks exactly like the real thing and it’s a tropical paradise. It’s visually stunning and always makes me feel like I’m right back there.

Seriously Geeky Sundays Week 15 - If you could go on holiday to any fictional place where would it be?

If you could go on holiday to any fictional place where would it be?

The city of Dalaran in World of Warcraft is home to the Kirin Tor a magical order dedicated to knowledge and artifacts. Not only is it a beautiful city it’s also a place that has visitors from all over Azeroth and beyond.  I’d love to spend time there exploring and learning all about magic!

Seriously Geeky Sundays Week 15 - Which fictional characters would you choose for a road trip?

Which fictional characters would you choose for a road trip?

Five characters I’d pick for a road trip would be:

Benton Fraser from Due South – I’ve just finished rewatching the show and Fraser isn’t just a great wilderness and survival expert he’s also knowledgable about so many things. He knows so many different cultures and languages, and he has such a friendly personality that he can pretty much charm the pants off of anyone. A handy person to have along with you!

Barry Allen from DC Comics – Who hasn’t forgotten something on a trip? I do it all the time and having The Flash along would be great. Barry’s also a really nice guy and I think he’d be a really interesting person to get to know.

The Doctor from Doctor Who – A time travelling alien who has been alive for thousands of years old and has a TARDIS has got to be on the list for a road trip companion.

The Winchester Brothers from Supernatural – We all know how the saying goes; “there’s more in heaven and earth, Horatio…”. I’d rather not take any chances and so I’ll take the Winchesters brothers along just in case anything goes bump in the night.

Daine from The Immortals Quartet – Daine has Wild Magic which gives her the ability to talk to animals. It’s an ability I’d love to have as I love animals, and any road trip I go on has to involve animals somehow. The Winchesters might not be too keen on her magic but I’m sure Fraser and the Doctor will be able to smooth things over.

Seriously Geeky Sundays Week 15 - Pick a fandom and create an ice cream flavour based on it!

Pick a fandom and create an ice cream flavour based on it!

I’m going to choose Nightwing and the ice cream flavour is called Bludhaven Blueberry Blitz. It’s a dark chocolate ice cream with blue cookie crumble and a swirl of blueberry.

  1. Due South was one of my favorite shows growing up- Benton and his deaf white wolf were such a dream team! Though your entire road trip crew sounds perfect, if I’m honest, I can’t believe I didn’t think of Dean and Sam (though I’d want Cas there too).

    1. Author

I would love Cas to be there too but then I figured I was just making a Supernatural road trip, and if I added him I’d want to add Crowley, and Rowena… and the list would never end 😀 Plus there’s always phone a friend if things get really hairy 😉
