War has arrived in Ossiana; Four Treasures and four fae are all that stand between Eilanmor and destruction. But with Ailsa and her friends scattered to the winds, will they find each other before their enemies tighten their chokehold on the continent? Still reeling from her revelation in the mountains, Ailsa must prove she is worthy of the Spear of Truth to win it from the witches. Surrounded by strangers and abandoned by both her demon and her spirit guide, things have never looked bleaker. But the gods have their own plans and soon Ailsa and her companions find that what was once dead and buried will rise again.

It is my pleasure to bring you my review for The Spear of Truth by Caroline Logan as part of the blog tour hosted by Cranachan Publishing! The Spear of Truth is the fourth and final book in The Four Treasures series series, a fantasy series based on Scottish mythology. I had hoped to have reviews up for the first three books before this review, but unfortunately, a chest infection prevented me. This is a spoiler-free review, though, and I’ve tried to avoid giving as much as possible away about the previous books.

The Spear of Truth Review
I fell in love with The Four Treasures novels from the start, and as with any final book, I was both excited and nervous to read The Spear of Truth by Caroline Logan and finish The Four Treasures series. Everything has been leading to an epic battle between Eilanmor and its enemies, with a group of friends standing together with a prophecy to guide them. Four treasures in the hands of four fae can win the day, but first, they need to get their hands on them.
Over the last three books, they have gone through life and death challenges to get some of them, and at the end of the book, Ailsa and Malik had finished a perilous journey to reach their destination, hoping to find the last one. What they found instead was more revelations and secrets, and The Spear of Truth starts with Ailsa unravelling them. Ailsa has been at the heart of the series, starting as a young changeling hiding from the wor,ld who ended up going on an adventure that opened a whole world of possibilities for her. In every book, she’s found out a little bit more about herself, and now, as the series comes to an end, the final questions of her identity. What she finds out,t you’ll have to find out yourself by reading The Spear of Tru. What I will say is that the answers are both surprising and delightful as Logan continues to keep the reader on their toes with twists and turns.
This book gets darker as the final battle draws closer with the Edaxi and the stakes get higher. With one of the group having visions of people dying that keep changing, none of them know what could happen; all they can do is hold on to hope and each other. But when something amazing happens, it brings with it a whole lot of strife that could be their undoing. How can the friends stick together in the face of such utter evil when some things can’t ever be forgiven?
Logan has once again delivered a brilliant book filled with adventure, magic and found family based on Scottish mythology. I’m sad to see Ailsa, Angus, Harris, Iona and their friends go, and this was a wonderful end to The Four Treasures series. Filled with the same camaraderie, witty banter and romance that is present throughout the series, The Spear of Truth is a fitting end to a unique fantasy series that is unmissable!
