As I hit a bit of a block a few weeks ago I decided to ask twitter for colour suggestions for a transmog colour challenge. I said that the first two people to give me colours would be the colours I’d use for the next two sets. I, of course, didn’t expect that any random person would respond and thus, when a non-gaming follower’s tweet popped up in my notification tab with ‘pink’ I immediately kicked myself. Especially when said person had no idea what a transmog was and was just trying to be helpful, so they had no idea how horribly tricky pink would be for this challenge. The second tweet was a fellow WoW player at least and was still a tricky one, although not quite as bad as pink; orange.
I had already done a plate and cloth set in the previous weeks so that left mail and leather, and I’m sorry mail users; if you’ve got your heart set on a pink set at some stage you’re going to be disappointed. There is so little. There’s not much more for leather either but there was enough to put a set together. When doing a challenge like this a few of my usual criteria tend to go out of the window – namely making it look perfect or even match. A colour challenge is about putting together a transmog set that works for the colour, in my opinion. So while I’m not really happy with this set I do feel I’ve done my best to put a pink transmog set together. Sometimes I’d pick an item and be certain it looked pink only to find it was actually more purple when I looked at it somewhere else.
Another disclaimer I do have to give though is this: colours look very different in game, in a browser, verses WoW model viewer and even different people’s computers. We all also have totally different concepts of what constitutes a hue of a certain colour. What I’ll say is pink you might say is purple, and so on. This was very obvious when using transmog guides/sites to help find pink items because I really disagreed with some of the items they listed as pink. So please, no comments complaining that this or that isn’t really pink. You’re more than welcome to make your own leather pink transmog and link it to me! A bit of competition would be fantastic 🙂

About #TransmogTuesday
Every Tuesday is #TransmogTuesday, and I’ll be posting with a new creation. My main is a discipline priest called Kaelea, so I do tend to edge towards cloth transmogs more than anything else. The aim of this project is to push my own boundaries, to get creative and work on some themes and ideas I’d normally not consider. That means I’m open to suggestions!
