Transmog Tuesday took a bit of a short break due to my holiday and then preparing for another trip to visit family, so we’re now heading back on track! How are you all finding Battle for Azeroth? I’m still not 120 yet, Chris and I are just levelling slowly and taking our times. I’m loving the transmog looks I am seeing so far and it won’t be long before you’ll see me messing about with some new BFA items!
For now though, I’ve got a few challenges for you. A few weeks ago I hit a bit of a block so I decided to ask twitter for colour challenges. I said that the first two people to give me colours would be the colours I’d use for the next two sets. I, of course, didn’t expect that any random person would respond and thus, when my non-gaming bestie Jen’s tweet popped up in my notification tab with ‘pink’ I immediately kicked myself. Having no clue what a transmog was she saw me ask for something and like any good friend decided to help out. There may have been a few swear words as well. The second tweet was a fellow WoW player at least and was still a tricky one, although not quite as bad as pink; orange.
I had already done a plate and cloth set in the previous weeks so that left mail and leather, and I’m sorry mail users; if you’ve got your heart set on a pink set at some stage you’re going to be disappointed. There is so little. There’s not much more for leather either but there was enough to put a set together. When doing a challenge like this a few of my usual criteria tend to go out of the window – namely making it look perfect or even match. A colour challenge is about putting together a transmog set that works for the colour, in my opinion. So while I’m not really happy with this set I do feel I’ve done my best to put a pink set together. Sometimes I’d pick an item and be certain it looked pink only to find it was actually more purple when I looked at it somewhere else.
Another disclaimer I do have to give though is this: colours look very different in game, in a browser, verses WoW model viewer and even different people’s computers. We all also have totally different concepts of what constitutes a hue of a certain colour. What I’ll say is pink you might say is purple, and so on. This was blindingly obvious when using transmog guides/sites to help find pink items because I really disagreed with some of the items they listed as pink. So please, no comments complaining that this or that isn’t really pink. You’re more than welcome to make your own pink leather transmog and link it to me! A bit of competition would be fantastic 🙂
Death By Pink
Every Tuesday is #TransmogTuesday and I’ll be posting with a new creation. My main is a discipline priest called Kaelea, so I do tend to edge towards cloth transmogs more than anything else. The aim of this project is to push my own boundaries, to get creative and work on some themes and ideas I’d normally not consider. That means I’m open to suggestions! Themes, colours, a transmog set around a particular item? Let me know 🙂
Over To You
What is your favourite colour? What is your least favourite colour?
Have you ever specifically made a transmog set around a colour?
What colours would you like to see me try next? Orange is next weeks set, check back next tuesday to see how I do!
Let me know in the comments, as always I’d love to hear from you 🙂
