My interview series here at Just Geeking By has been up and running for a a few years now, and it was well overdue an update. Not to mention it was about time I removed the ‘coming soon’ sign off the Disability Interview information page and actually got some real questions up! When I first created the interview series the aim was shine a light on the unique hobbies and professions that other people have experienced. To give them a place to share the stories of where they began, how they grew and have gotten to where they are now so that others could learn from them. I’ve been fortunate enough to have met some amazing people in my life with wonderful talents and interesting hobbies, and I wanted to let people know that there were others out there just like them.
For the same reasons I wanted to add interviews from people with disabilities and chronic illnesses, providing an opportunity for them to share their experiences with their disability/condition. By sharing our experiences we can help others who are just starting their journey, pass on the advice we were given and add our own too. Whether these interviews offer a platform for your voice, a way to give back and share your story or help spread awareness; I hope that you’ll consider signing up for an interview.
I’ve also added a new type of interview; Custom Interviews. These are available to anyone in the geek or entertainment professional world; authors, cosplayers, and more. As the name suggests the format is much more open, with questions specific to each participant. These interviews can be conducted by email, voice chat or in person at an event.
Further more, the interview section itself has had a few upgrades and there is now a Completed Interview section divided by category. Past interviews are being updated with new images and new headers so be sure to check those out too!
I fully believe in the idea that everyone has a story to tell, and that we all have experiences that can inspire others. No matter how big or small your story is I would love to tell it! You can find all the information about each of the interviews, including the list of questions, right here.
If you’re not sure or have any questions please get in touch and we can talk things out 🙂
