Make up is one of my passions, and I love when people combine it with art and design. There are some incredibly talented artists out there and I wanted to share with you a few of my favourites for this week’s Sharing Saturday!
Please note: All images belong to the artists mentioned in this post. If you like their work please take the time to visit them and follow them on social media!
Tal Peleg makes incredible scenes using eyes and eye shadows, and these are just a few examples. You really do need to view her entire gallery to see the breadth of her skill. I love how varied her designs are, and how quirky too. There’s plenty of Disney, some art inspired like the Dali eye featured here, and some childhood favourites too.
Svenja is an artist that uses her eyes and make-up as a canvas, and what I really love about her work is the use of items as well as paint and make-up. This adds a 3D element, and also means that some of her work is more about symbolism and colours. For example, the first design featured here is her interpretation of The Little Mermaid, as part of her Disney series. Her butterfly and insect series’ are awe-inspiring and if you’re ok with seeing insects then they are worth a browse.
Katie is a pretty well known face on the web and you’ve quite possibly seen her work before. She takes make-up art to the next level, using a variety of different products and skills to create amazing looks. She did a fantastic series called 31 days of Halloween and included tutorials on her youtube channels for the looks she created. She has covered a variety of themes, and plays around with glow in the dark paint to create some stunning effects.
Ithi at Ithinity Beauty has an extraordinary talent for painting nails freehand, and these are just a few of her incredible designs. She posts new ones every couple of days and they range from freehand, to swatches and using different nail art products. When I’m not drooling over her beautiful designs, I love reading her blog and learning about the new products she’s tried out. She often takes part in themes and challenges which has resulted in some fantastic ideas and creations.
Makeup For Glasses
Samaries focuses on creating beautiful eye make-up designs for glasses wearers. As one herself she knows the challenges ladies with glasses face and lists herself as someone who is “breaking the rules when it comes to wearing makeup and glasses”. She offers tips and product reviews, as well as detailing the products she uses to obtain her stunning eye make-up. While Samaries’ work is not as fantastical as the other artists featured in this blog post, I wanted to include her because of how important it is for glasses wearers to have someone like her doing this. While glasses themselves have become fashionable in recent years, not many people actually experience the struggles of creating make-up looks with bad eye sight or that stand out behind glasses.
Eva Senín Pernas
Eva’s work includes full face make-up designs, as well as focusing on individual areas like her crime scene lips featured in the first image. I love the versitility of her work, and how she includes full special effects like her Kerrigan look (second photo) as well as creating themed pieces. There’s a vibrance and ingenuity to her work that really draws you in.
Are you familar with any of these artists? Any new or different ones to recommend? Are you a make up artist? Let me know in the comments and don’t be share to drop me a link to your work! <3
