10 Unique Gemstones for Valentine's Day Gifts

As a Libra I’ve always been attracted to beautiful things, so naturally shiny colourful rocks and minerals that come from mother have always appealed to me. I started looking into crystals for and magic when I was in my teens, around the same time I began to realise that Christianity really wasn’t for me and I was introduced to Paganism. It didn’t take long for me to recognise that my and personal beliefs were more aligned to Paganism, and for many years now I have identified as a solitary neo-pagan practitioner. As discussed in the past jewellery is very significant to me and has been with me throughout my life, so naturally I tend to mix a bit of spirituality into my jewellery searching. This means that I love browsing jewellery featuring vibrant and unique gemstones.

Talking about my love for unique gemstones seemed like a great topic for a 10 things.  Just in time for Valentine’s Day and Galentine’s Day I’ve selected 10 unique gemstones that will make gorgeous gifts for women this year.

Marropino Morganite Diamond Ring from The Jewellery Channel

Labradorite Woven Pearl necklace from Not on the High Street

Labradorite Woven Pearl Necklace

One of my favourite stones of all time Labradorite is one that you need to physically see to really behold its beauty. It glimmers and shines in the light with its multi-faceted surface shining with hundreds of colours. It can appear to be dark blue as it does here, nearer to black or closer to a dark bottle green. Every item made with Labradorite holds many wonders within though so it is the perfect gift for someone loves and mysteries of the universe. This lovely necklace with pearls woven onto the labradorite is £86 from Not on the High Street.

Sterling Silver Triple Moonstone Teardrop Earrings from Not on the High Street

Sterling Silver Triple Moonstone Teardrop Earrings

In a way you could consider Moonstone to be Labradorite’s cousin;  it is dark just as moonstone is light. As you would expect from a stone named after the moon it is a delightful stone that shimmers like the moon in the sky. Not to be confused with Opal, Moonstone is more translucent and milky with a blue hue, where as Opal is iridescent. Moonstone is a great stone for women who like delicate jewellery and have a quieter style. These lovely teardrop are available from Not on the Highstreet for £35.

Dalmatian Jasper Bar Pendant Necklace

Dalmatian Jasper Bar Pendant Necklace from Not on the High Street

It’s pretty obvious how this one got it’s name isn’t it? 😉 There are many types of Jasper, however, I’ve always thought it simply marvellous that has created something that looks like this. It’s definitely not something that most people will have ever heard so if you’re looking for a gift for someone who has everything then this might just be it! It’s also a great idea for animal lovers too. It’s available from Not on the High Street for £32.50.

Aventurine Crescent Moon Gemstone Necklace from Not on the High Street

Aventurine Crescent Moon Gemstone Necklace

Aventurine is a lovely shade of teal that always reminds me of the wind and the sea. It has a calming presence, and this lovely crescent cut necklace would be a great gift for someone with a bohemian sense of style. It’s available in a variety of metals from Etsy for £32.50.

Rose Gold Drop Rose Quartz Pyramid Earrings from Not on the High Street

  1. I don’t really have any gemstones at home other than my birthstone – Amethyst! I do love amethyst as it seems to give me inner strength when I need it most. It’s probably a placebo effect but, it just makes me feel good! 🙂 Thanks for the post! I hope someone gifts me something as beautiful for Valentines!

    1. Amethyst is really good for intuition and spirituality, so personally as someone who believes in the power of crystals I would say that your feeling towards Amethyst is spot on. We have a stronger connection to our birthstones too. One of my zodiac birthstones is Rose Quartz and that is the one I feel the strongest connection to.
