Learn more about the Geek Gift Guides available at Just Geeking By

There are a lot of gift guides around and as a geek, I offer a unique perspective. These guides are the result of having to explain my wishlists to family members too many times, and receiving completely random gifts from them or from work colleagues for Secret Santa. So whether you’re the geek receiving the gifts or the parent or workmate buying for one this is the gift guide for you!

These guides are designed to introduce you to the world of geek gifts, introducing them to the different types of geeks and nerds (yep there’s more than one!), and explaining how to identify them so you can to buy the perfect gift. Each guide includes gift ideas and tips on where to buy them.

The first in the Ultimate Geek Gift Guide series starts at the beginning with an introduction to geeks and nerds. This guide discusses the difference between geeks and nerds, introduces 6 specific types and how to identify them.

The next guides are dedicated to the geek archetypes introduced in this one with each guide including gift ideas, store lists and unique gift suggestions.

A gift guide dedicated to Fandom geeks. Fandom geeks can be identified by their love for one or more fandoms; according to Urban Dictionary a fandom is: “A fandom is a group, or community, of people who like a game, book, or specific topic”.

Gamer Geeks are very similar to fandom geeks except their passion is for all things games. This guide covers all types of gaming; video games, board games, card games and roleplaying games.

Tech nerds aren’t just computer nerds and this guide will be covering everything from computers to photography and engineering. If it involves technology then it will be featured here.

Art isn’t just limited to traditional arts and this guide covers digital art and web design too. Art is a passion, and art geeks aren’t always artists themselves; their passion might be art history or theory. While ‘The Arts’ is an umbrella term often used to include music, theatre and dance, for the purpose of this guide I focused on artists and designers.

Book and write geeks are quite similar to fandom geeks, except their fandoms are limited to the world of books. They don’t just have a passion for the stories and characters, it’s also the physical books and the written word that brings them joy. Some of them will be working on becoming writers themselves.
